MissionThe Great Friends Charity's primary mission is to offer financial assistance to individuals (or relatives of individuals) who have attended Churchill Area High School and have come upon hard times due to a catastrophic accident or illness.
HistoryOur organization started in 2001 to assist the family of a good friend who passed away. Within a three year period we developed the name Great Friends to broaden the scope of charities we support and to encourage a larger group of friends to join in our effort.

Please Consider Joining Our EffortsOur common bond is that we were all once Mighty, Mighty Chargers. As the years and the miles have progressed, none of us are nearly as mighty as we once were. That’s why for the last 20 years our charity has stepped up and stepped in to aid our fellow Churchill Area High School Alumni.
Unfortunately, many of our loved ones have dealt with catastrophic illness and/or accidents. Sadly, all of us aren’t equipped to handle the financial burdens that come along with these setbacks. So after a 1971 graduate passed away suddenly in 2001, we hosted our first fundraiser. A golf event to raise money to help with his children’s college educations. That informal group that came together to help a family in need has since become an incorporated charity dedicated to helping Churchill alumni and their families. We have covered funeral expenses, provided aid for classmates in nursing homes, paid off medical bills for cancer treatments and transplants that weren’t covered by insurance, helped with renovations to make homes handicap accessible, and more. Our process is simple and straightforward. You need to fill out a nomination form identifying a CAHS grad or immediate family member that has financial need due to an illness or accident. Our board of directors reviews the request and determines how much assistance, if any, we can provide. Although, many times the need is greater than our resources, we do our best to cover what we can. Our current board of directors includes Joe Kucic, Leon Rochez, Ron Onderick, Denise Pasquarelli-Gipson, John McCabe, and Dan Kravetz. Please consider making a donation to our worthwhile charity. We thank you for your support! |
